Former NBA star Chris Herren, who will be at the Skookum Creek Event Center on May 15th, took some time Friday, May 4th to talk with MasonWebTV.com. Herren was a high school basketball star whose drug and alcohol problem has been well documented throughout his career which took him from Fall River, Massachusetts to Boston College, to Fresno State, to the NBA and overseas before his addictions ended things in 2004.
Mason General Hospital Foundation is making a last call for nominations for the 15th annual American Business Women’s Award which honors the community’s most outstanding business women. The awards will be presented at a luncheon Friday, September 21st. Due to the Campus renewal Project, the 2012 luncheon will be held at St. Edward’s Catholic Church, Shelton.
The City of Shelton has rescheduled the closure and paving of Fairmount Avenue. As part of the upgrades to the City’s Wastewater Treatment Plant, Stellar J Corporation will be paving around the plant and a portion of Fairmount Avenue. That work, which was scheduled for this week, is now set for next Tuesday and Wednesday (May 8th & 9th) from 7 AM to 6:30 PM.
