The Board of Directors for the Hood Canal School District is inviting community members to attend a special meeting at 6:30 PM Thursday to provide input regarding the desired qualifications for the next Superintendent/Principal for the district.
The Shelton School Board has lowered the District’s academic eligibility standards for athletics and extra curricular activities to match the WIAA level which is used by most other schools in the state. After a split decision Tuesday night, students will now need to have a 1.8 grade point average to be eligible for sports and other after school activities. The previous GPA was 2.0.
Mason County PUD No. 3 Commissioners Tuesday adopted an increase in electrical rates that will go into effect beginning on May 1. According to a news release, the financial impacts of renewable energy purchases and an increase in price for wholesale electricity purchased from the Bonneville Power Administration (BPA) are among the main reasons for the increase.
