In a unanimous decision, the Washington state Supreme Court Thursday found four Mason County property owners were improperly taxed $5 per parcel by a local conservation district and are entitled to refunds.
Officials with Hall Equities Group, developer of the Shelton Hills project, are pleased that the Thurston County Superior Court reversed the Western Washington Growth Management Hearings Board invalidity order on the rezone of 160 acres in its project west of U.S. Highway 101 just south of Sanderson Field allowing the project to move forward.

A local construction contractor has been awarded the contract to construct side sewer connections for the Belfair Sewer System. Tuesday, Mason County’s Department of Utilities and Waste Management announced they awarded the contract for Group 2 of the County Hook Up Program to Zephyr’s Inc. out of Allyn.
