Oregon Sex Offender Last Seen in Belfair

A sex offender missing from Oregon was last seen in the Belfair area of Mason County. According to the Mason County Sheriff’s Office, 66-year-old Joseph Milton Honore absconded from the Oregon State Police Sex Offender Program in 2001 and has been hiding from Law Enforcement. Honore was convicted of Rape 1st Degree in 1974 for raping a 12-year-old girl in Oregon’s Wasco County. He was paroled in 1978 after serving three years of an 11-year sentence. Eight months later, Honore was arrested and later convicted for Rape 1st Degree for stalking, breaking into a business and spending a night raping a young woman in Lane County, Oregon.

Road Construction Impacts Access to Grapeview Water Festival

Construction on Grapeview Loop Road will impact access to the Grapeview Water and Arts Festival Saturday. Mason County Public Works has closed Grapeview Loop Road at milepost 3, which is just east of Murray Road, so those wising to attend this annual event hosted by the Grapeview Community Association and the Fair Harbor Marina will need to use the northern most end of Grapeview Loop Road. That is the end closest to Allyn.

Ribbon Cutting for Belfair Sewer Monday

A ribbon cutting has been set for the Belfair Wastewater and Water Reclamation Facility. The Mason County Commissioners will be joined at 8 AM Monday (July 30th) by Congressman Norm Dicks and Bob Bergquist of the Washington State Department of Ecology at the Water Reclamation Facility in Belfair (22250 SR 3 – near milepost 28 across from Belfair Yard “Log” Road). The public is encouraged to attend.
