The Shelton softball team was eliminated from the Class 3A West Central District 3 / Southwest District 4 Tournament. The Highclimbers were shutout by Kelso 11 to 0 in their first game Friday. Shelton then faced Spanaway Lake in the consolation bracket but the Sentinels were able to slip by the ‘Climbers 5 to 3. Shelton finishes the season with a 8-and-16 record.

The Shelton softball team was blown away by Yelm Wednesday 24 to 0 in a game broadcast on MasonWebTV Powered by HCC. The Tornados sent every batter in their line up to the plate in the first inning (scoring 5 runs) and nearly batted around twice in the second inning (scoring 11 runs). Yelm scored at least two runs in each of the next three innings to secure their 17th victory of the season. The game was called in the fifth inning due to the mercy rule.

The Shelton softball team came from behind to slip by Lakes 4 to 3 in a nonleague game broadcast by MasonWebTV Powered by HCC.
The Lady Lancers struck first scoring two runs in the third inning and added another in the fourth to take a 3 to 0 lead.
The West Central / Southwest Bi-District Softball Tournament at Spinker Fields in Spanaway has been rained out again. Loser-out games originally scheduled for Saturday and rescheduled for Sunday are now scheduled for Monday.
The Shelton softball team has dropped into the consolation bracket of the Class 3A West Central / Southwest District Tournament. Friday, the Highclimbers lost to Peninsula in the first round 6 to 4 and then beat Kennedy Catholic 15 to 5 in the second round. Shelton plays Bonney Lake in the third round at 9 AM Saturday, May 21 at Sprinker Fields in Spanaway.
The Shelton softball team took 2nd place in the Narrows League after falling to Central Kitsap 9 to 7 in the league championship game. The Highclimbers are also the number two seed in the West Central / Southwest District Tournament which starts Friday, May 20th. Shelton has a 17-and-4 record and takes on Peninsula, the number five team from the South Puget Sound League, in the first round of District. The game starts at 10 AM at Sprinker Fields in Spanaway.
The Shelton softball team held off North Thurston’s sixth inning rally to advance to the Narrows League Championship game as the Highclimbers beat the Rams 7 to 6. Shelton was led by Loretta LaClair who went 3 for 4 at the plate and batted in a run. And Aurora Gouley was 1 for 3 with a double and a run scored. The Lady-‘Climbers now face Central Kitsap for the League Championship tomorrow Friday, May 13th at 3 PM.
