The school board usually meets on the third Thursday at 6:30 PM but scheduling conflicts prompted the school district to move the meeting to Wednesday, February 21, 2018. During the 5:30 PM study session,¬†school board members will discuss the new ESSA (Every Student Succeeds Act) requirements for Washington State. Click here for the study session’s agenda. NMSB Hears About Cooperative High School

The North Mason School Board heard about the Cooperative High School being proposed by the Hood Canal and Pioneer school districts. Pioneer’s Superintendent Marty Brewer made a presentation Thursday.

Each District is asking voters to approve a $30 Million bond to build the $60-$70 Million, 100,000 square foot high school for 750 students. If approved, the high school would be built in the Lake Limerick area. Ballots for the construction bond will be mailed to voters next week. The measure will need a super-majority (60%) to pass.

Krotzer and Patti Sworn In

Leanna Krotzer and Craig Patti were sworn in as North Mason School Board members Thursday. Superintendent Dana Rosenbach administered the oath of office to both.

Krotzer was re-elected to her Direct District No. 2 seat beating Mike Sammons in November. Patti ran unopposed for the Direct District No. 5 seat but was appointed to the position in September after the resignation of Dinah Griffey. The North Mason School Board then elected Patti as Board President for the next year and Krotzer was elected Vice President.

Craig Patti One of Three New NMSB Members

The North Mason School Board welcomed three new members Thursday including Craig Patti who was appointed to the Director District 5 seat.

Patti, who previously served on the North Mason School Board and is running unopposed for the position, takes the seat left vacant by the July resignation of Dinah Griffey. Patti was sworn in after a public interview and a short executive session.

The other two new members to the school board are student representatives for the 2017-2018 school year: Spencer Pruitt and Ryan Nogues .
