According to a news release, the Mason County Sheriff’s Office along with assistance from the Squaxin Island Tribal Police Department, the Shelton Police Department, the Shelton Detachment of the Washington State Patrol and the Shelton Office of the Department of Corrections apprehended two sex offenders that had absconded from their registration requirements. Derek Levasseur and Alex Frost were both apprehended in different parts of the county. Both had been made aware that they were wanted by Law Enforcement from citizens seeing bulletins, flyers and advertisements on Washington’s Most Wanted as well as articles in local media. The Mason County Sheriff’s Office says 22-year-old Alex James Frost has moved from his registered address in the Shelton area and has failed to disclose his whereabouts. His family told the Sheriff’s Office that Frost is taking methamphetamines and has anger management problems. Continue reading

The Mason County Sheriff’s Office reports that Bremerton Police took 27-year-old Abraham Eugene Bates into custody Tuesday night and is now in Kitsap County Jail. Bates was released from jail on Saturday (Dec. 14) after serving a sentence for failing to register as a sex offender. He was required to report to the Sheriff’s Office and the Department of Corrections on Monday (Dec. 16) but failed to do so. Arrest warrants were then issued for Abraham Eugene Bates. Sex Offender Missing Again

The Sheriff’s Office says 27-year-old Abraham Eugene Bates was released from custody on Saturday (Dec. 14) after spending time in jail for failing to register as a sex offender. He was required to report to the Sheriff’s Office on Monday (Dec. 16) to registers as a sex offender but has failed to do so. Bates was also required to report to the Department of Corrections on the same day but he failed to do that as well. Missing Sex Offender Apprehended

The Mason County Sheriff’s Office say 27-year-old Abraham Eugene Bates was seen in the Belfair area and taken into custody without incident just after 2 PM Wednesday. He has been transported to the Washington State Department of Corrections field office in Shelton and then transported to the Washington Correction Center.

Missing Recently Released Sex Offender

According to a bulletin from the Sheriff’s Office, 27-year-old Abraham Eugene Bates was released from jail Sunday, November 17, 2013 but has not checked in with the Sheriff’s Office as required for being convicted sex offender. He also has failed to check in with the Department of Correction as he is on DOC supervision. Bates is wanted by law enforcement and was last seen in the Belfair area Wednesday (November 20, 2013) morning. He is described as a white male, six feet tall, 165 pounds, with brown hair and brown. Law Enforcement Quickly Find Missing Sex Offender

thomas dean gibsonCUSTODYA transient sex offender who failed to follow his registration requirements and was wanted by law enforcement Thursday morning was quickly apprehended. The bulletin reporting 47-year-old Thomas Dean Gibson missing was released about 9 AM. Just after 1 PM, the Mason County Sheriff’s Office reported Gibson was apprehended without incident by Sheriff’s Detectives and Shelton Police Officers inside the city. He was booked into Mason County Jail.

James Henry Christy WANTEDThe Mason County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a homeless sex offender who has failed to check-in as a transient sex offender and has two outstanding warrants. 54-year-old James Henry Christy is required to register as a sex offender due to numerous sex crime convictions including Felony Indecent Exposure and two counts of Indecent Liberties with Forcible Compulsion. The most recent conviction was in 2010 when Christy exposed himself to a 52-year-old woman in a common area of an apartment complex. The other convictions stem from Christy, at age 38, sexually abusing two girls, ages 5 and 6, while he was babysitting. Eventually, the sexual molestation escalated to rape.  Continue reading

According to a sex offender information bulletin, 24-year-old Derek Alan Levasseur is required to register as a sex offender due to Kitsap County convictions for Rape of a Child 3rd Degree and Communication with a Minor for Immoral Purposes in 2010. These convictions stem from Levasseur, at age 21, sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl on multiple occasions. The Sheriff’s Office says Levasseur moved from his registered address, was living unregistered at another address and now his whereabouts are unknown. Continue reading

According to a sex offender bulletin, 25-year-old Timothy Adam Ashford has recently absconded from his registration requirements after being expelled from a Behavior Health Rehabilitation mental treatment facility in Olympia. Originally, Ashford registered as a transient/homeless sex offender with the Mason County Sheriff’s Office but has failed to register in Mason or Thurston counties and authorities believe he is living on the streets. Sheriff’s Office Again Looking for Missing Sex Offender

The Sheriff’s Office reports that 26-year-old Jimi Lee Johnson has again absconded from his registration requirements as a sex offender. Last July, Johnson registered as a transient/homeless sex offender living in the Shelton area which required him to check in with the Sheriff’s Office every Monday. A week later on August 7, 2012, Johnson failed to comply with that requirement and his whereabouts were unknown. The following week, the Sheriff’s Office reported apprehending Johnson in downtown Shelton. Friday afternoon (January 18, 2013), a Sheriff’s Office bulletin states Johnson has “again failed to report to the Mason County Sheriff’s Office”, failed to meet his Department of Corrections Supervision, his whereabouts are unknown and he is wanted by law enforcement. On November 1, 2012, 20-year-old Izak Lee Shackleford registered with the Sheriff’s Office as a “transient/homeless” sex offender living in the Shelton area and is required to check in with the Sheriff’s Office every Monday.
