Mental Health and Chemical Dependency Proposals Sought

Mason County Public Health is requesting proposals for mental health and chemical dependency sales and use tax. Todd Parker, Housing and Behavioral Health Program Coordinator, made the announcement during Tuesday’s Mason County Commission meeting.

Mental Health First Aid Class Offered

mental-health-1at-aidThe National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Thurston-Mason Affiliate is offering a free Mental Health First Aid Class to 20 people in Mason County on November 18th from 8:30 AM to 5 PM at the Mason County Transit Center in Downtown Shelton.

Just as CPR helps you assist an individual having a heart attack, Mental Health First Aid helps you assist someone experiencing a mental health related crisis.
