High School Sports Result from 10/5/17

Result from soccer, swimming & volleyball

The Shelton girls’ soccer team lost at Capital 3 to 1. Freshman, Emma Miller, scored the Lady Highclimbers’ goal in the second half. Shelton goal keeper, Victoria Silverman, had nine saves. The Highclimbers are still winless on the season. They host Peninsula next Tuesday.

The Shelton girls’ swim team lost at Gig Harbor 153 to 26. The Lady Highclimbers host Central Kitsap next Thursday.

The North Mason girls’ soccer team slipped by Bremerton Thursday 2 to 1. The Lady Bulldogs improved to 4-5-and-1 on the season, 3-and-4 in the Olympic League. The girls from Belfair travel to Silverdale Stadium next Tuesday to take on league leading Olympic.

The North Mason volleyball team lost to Bremerton three games to 1. The Lady Bulldogs are now 6-and-4 on the season, 4-and-4 in the Olympic League. The girls from Belfair travel to Olympic next Tuesday.

High School Sports Results from 10/4/17

Results from volleyball, cross country & tennis

The Shelton volleyball team knocked off North Thurston Wednesday three games to one: 14-25, 25-17, 25-22, 25-19. The Lady Highclimbers improved to 2-and-6 on the season. They host Gig Harbor next Tuesday.

The Shelton cross country teams finished third in a four-team race at the South Mason Soccer Park. Top Highclimber finishers for the boys were William Johnson who ran the 5,000 meter course in 16 minutes, 57.32 seconds placing 3rd and Ethan Bursch who placed 5th with a time of 17 minutes, 37.12 seconds. On the girls’ side, freshman Aiden Gregg was 4th with a time of 21 minutes, 21.18 seconds. Shelton heads to the South Sound Conference Championships at Fort Steilacoom Park next Thursday.

The North Mason girls’ cross country team had two runners finish first and second at Sequim Wednesday but the Bulldogs lost to the Wolves in the team scoring by one: 27 to 28. Top runners from Belfair were Savannah Knutson with a time of 22 minutes, 47.73 seconds and Isabella Porter with a time of 23 minutes, 29.34 seconds. Natalie Young finished 7th (27 min. 50.11 sec.) and Kire Schwerzler was 8th (28 min. 21.87 sec.).
On the boys’s side, North Mason’s Anton Baur finished 7th (20 min. 17.11 sec.), Nathan Fjeld was 9th (20 min. 21.11 sec.) and Gabe Navarro was 10th (20 min. 23.11 sec.). The Bulldogs host North Kitsap and Port Townsend next Wednesday.

The North Mason boys’ tennis team lost at Olympic 7 to 0 Wednesday. The Bulldogs host Bremerton today.

Results from soccer, volleyball & tennis

The Shelton girls’ soccer team was blanked by Gig Harbor eight-nil (8 to 0) Tuesday. The Lady Highclimbers have yet to win a game this season. They travel to Capital Thursday.

The Shelton boys’ tennis team wrapped up their season with a 5 to 0 loss to Peninsula Tuesday. As a team, the Highclimbers finish 1-8-and-1.

The North Mason volleyball team beat Kingston three games to two Tuesday. The Lady Bulldogs improved to 6-and-3 on the season, 4-and-3 in the Olympic League. The girls from Belfair host Bremerton Thursday.

The North Mason girls’ soccer team shutout Kingston one-nil (1 to 0) Tuesday. The Lady Bulldogs improved to 3-5-and-1 on the season, 2-and-4 in Olympic League play. The girls from Belfair host Bremerton Thursday.

The North Mason boys’ tennis team lost at Klahowya Tuesday 7 to 0. The Bulldogs travel to Olympic today (Wednesday).

Shelton Cross Country Results

The Shelton cross country teams ran in the 22nd Curtis Invitational Saturday at Chambers Creek in University Place. Top Highclimber finisher was William Johnson who placed 16th running the 5,000 meter course in 16 minutes, 45.1 seconds. Aiden Gregg was the top finisher for Shelton on the girls’ side placing 36th with a time of 20 minutes, 57.6 seconds.

The Highclimbers host Capital, Central Kitsap and Timberline Wednesday at the South Mason Soccer Park.

At the Mark Lyle Memorial Invite Saturday, Shelton freshman cross country runner Aiden Gregg finished the 5,000 meter course at Lake Sylvia near Montesano in third place with a personal record time of 21 minutes, 21 seconds. Other Lady Highclimbers to participate: Keagan Leach (finished 7th), Miracle Horne (9th), Hanna Shrum (19th), Torie Bartholomew (20th), and Cordi Atkinson (25th).
On the boys’ side, the Shelton runner was Jakobi Budge who finished 16th, followed by Angel Encarnacion (17th), Ryan Wiles (19th), Sirius James (21st), Matthew Clark (22nd), Raymond Clark (39th) and Joshua Manning (47th).

High School Sports Results from 9/14/17

Result from swimming, soccer & volleyball

The Shelton girls’ swim team beat Mt. Tahoma Thursday 91 to 49. The Highclimbers’ Emma Gordham took the 200 free and the 500 free; Hannah Oliver won the 100 butterfly and the 100 breaststroke; Kaitlyn Walters topped the 100 backstroke; and relay team of Walters, Carolynn Clarey, Oliver and Victoria Gonella won the 200 medley and the 400 free relays. Shelton hosts Peninsula next Thursday.

The Shelton girls’ soccer team was shut out at Peninsula Thursday eight-nil (8-0). The Lady Highclimbers drop to 0-and-3 on the season. They were to play Black Hills Saturday but that game was canceled. Shelton next hosts Central Kitsap on Tuesday.

High School Sports Result from 9/13/17

Results from SHS Cross Country & NM Tennis

The Shelton cross country teams had two runners finish second on the two-mile course at Lake Isabella Wednesday. Highclimber freshman Aiden Gregg was ten seconds behind the top finisher on the girls’ side with a time of 13 minutes, 32.73 seconds. Meanwhile, William Johnson finished 23 and a half seconds behind the boys’ first place runner with a time of 10 minutes, 40.54 seconds. In team scoring, the Shelton boys finished second while the Lady Highclimbers were fifth. The Shelton cross country teams run in the Wenatchee Invitational on September 23rd.

The North Mason boys’ tennis team lost to Olympic 7 to 0. The Bulldogs had their match with Chimacum rescheduled to Tuesday, so the boys from Belfair next face Bremerton on the road on Monday.

Results from MMK football & SHS Soccer

The Mary M. Knight football team lost to Crescent Saturday 64 to 0. The Owls host Evergreen Lutheran next Saturday at 1 PM. MMK is 0-and-2 on the season while the Eagles are 0-and-1.

The Shelton girls’ soccer team was shut out by Tumwater Saturday six-nil (6 to 0) in their season opener. Highclimber goal keeper, Carrington Waylett was credited for 10 saves in the game. Shelton opens South Sound Conference play Tuesday at home against Capital.
