Four Injured in Taylor Towne Crash

WSPlogoFour people were injured in a two-car collision on U.S. Highway 101 in Taylor Towne Sunday. The State Patrol says the crash occurred about 2:30 PM at the intersection of 101 and Southeast Lynch Road. Three Olympia women were westbound on Lynch Road in a 2007 Ford Focus. As they crossed Highway 101, the Focus hit a northbound 1995 Acura Legend. Continue reading

wsp logo3A Belfair woman was injured when the motorcycle she was on hit a dog near Potlatch Saturday. The State Patrol says the 2002 Honda VTX180 was northbound on U.S. Highway 101 about 12:30 PM. As the bike approached Potlatch (milepost 333), a dog ran onto the highway. Continue reading

Pickup Strikes Bicycle in Belfair

sr3 bike struck 080814A 70-year-old Tahuya man was injured after his bicycle was struck by a pickup truck on Highway 3 in Belfair Friday. According to the State Patrol, Fred Walter Sage III was southbound on the shoulder of SR-3 about 11:30 AM. Near Romance Hill Road (milepost 26), a southbound 2004 Toyota pickup drifted onto the shoulder and struck Sage. Continue reading

Shelton Woman Dies in Montana Motorcycle Crash

Montana_Highway_PatrolA 55-year-old woman from Shelton died in a motorcycle crash in south-central Montana Thursday night. The Montana Highway Patrol says a 55-year-old man, also from Shelton, was driving a 2007 Harley-Davidson at about 8:15 PM when the bike struck a deer on Highway 10 East near Big Timber.  Continue reading

Truck Crashes into Canal

A truck ended up in Hood Canal Friday after the driver fell asleep. The State Patrol says the Chevrolet 1500 pickup was southbound on U.S. Highway 101 about 5 PM. Just south of Hoodsport, at milepost 333, the truck left the highway to the left, went over an embankment and landed in the Canal.

Truck Strikes Tree on 106

wsp logo3A truck struck a tree on Highway 106 Wednesday night west of Belfair. According to the State Patrol, the 2000 Ford Ranger pickup was eastbound about 9:45 PM when it left the roadway to the right and struck the tree near milepost 14 – six miles west of Belfair. Patrol Vehicle Struck in Shelton

MCSO vehicle crash 061914A Mason County Sheriff’s patrol vehicle was struck by a suspected drunk driver Wednesday in downtown Shelton. According to the State Patrol, a 1997 Honda Accord was on Grove Street about 5 PM when it failed to stop at a stop sign at Highway 3. The Honda entered the intersection and was struck by a fully marked Mason County Sheriff’s 2006 Ford F150 Pickup that was southbound on SR3. Continue reading

Alcohol Involved in Highway 3 Rollover

SR3 rollover060614Alcohol is believed to be the cause of a single-vehicle rollover crash on Highway 3 Thursday night north of Shelton.  The State Patrol reports that a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck was southbound on Highway 3 just before 7 PM. About two miles north of the city, in the 2400 block, the truck crossed the centerline into the northbound lane and struck a mailbox, curb, telephone pole and a tree. The Chevy came to rest on its top on the northbound side on the grass embankment. Continue reading

Two Dead, One Injured in Crash on Forest Service Road

FSR23crash1The Mason County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a one-vehicle crash that killed two people and seriously injured another on Forest Service Road 23 Sunday.  Although deputies are still investigating, they believe there were seven passengers in the small truck –  five in the bed – when it left the roadway at a high speed and struck a tree. Many of the passengers were thrown from the truck. Investigators also believe alcohol and possibly marijuana may be contributing factors in this crash.  Continue reading

Two from Belfair Injured in Highway 3 Crash

rodeo drive in crashTwo from Belfair were injured in a motorcycle vs. car crash on Highway 3 near the Rodeo Drive-In about a mile south of Bremerton. The State Patrol says a 1999 Buick LaSabre was in the northbound center turn lane at milepost 32 about 9:15 PM while a 2002 Harley Davidson was in the southbound travel lane. The Buick, driven by Miranda M. Carter, 19 of Belfair, turned left in front of the Harley and the vehicles collided. Continue reading
