One person was injured in a two-vehicle head-on crash at the intersection of U.S. Highway 101 and Highway 102 (Dayton Airport Road) Sunday. According to the State Patrol, a 1991 BMW 325 was southbound on 101 just before noon. One man was injured in a two-vehicle collision on Old Belfair Highway early Saturday morning. The State Patrol reports that a 1997 Mitsubishi Eclipse was northbound on Old Belfair Highway are 12:30 AM. One person was injured in a two-vehicle crash in Jefferson County Tuesday which involved Shelton residents. According to the State Patrol, a 1996 Nissan pickup was behind a 2015 KIA Rio on southbound U.S. Highway 101 just before noon. At milepost 303, which is near Hjelvick Road, the KIA made an abrupt U-turn in front of the pickup. The driver of the Nissan attempted to avoid a collision by crossing into the northbound lane. A 23-year-old Pullman man was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle after a head-on collision on U.S. Highway 101 at Shelton Matlock Road Sunday night.
The State Patrol reports a 1977 Rockwood 22-foot motor home was northbound on 101 about 9:30 PM when the driver fell asleep. The motor home crossed the centerline near the Shelton Matlock road exit. A passenger in the motor home woke the driver and he corrected its path but the RV still struck a southbound 2006 Peterbilt Tractor Trailer head-on. On Tuesday afternoon, 08/11/2015 around 3:29 PM, the Mason County Sheriff’s Office lost one of their own. Jail Deputy Sheriff Rachael B. Stuhlmiller was driving to work on US Hwy. 101 when she was involved in a tragic motorcycle accident.

A motorcyclist died Tuesday after striking a dump trailer being pulled by a semi on U.S. Highway 101 at Hurley Waldrip Road. A State Patrol collision memo says the 2013 Kawasaki EX300 motorcycle was northbound on 101 while the semi, a 1993 Kenworth with a Beall Dump Trailer, was southbound. About 3:30 PM, the semi was turning left across the northbound lanes of 101 onto Hurley Waldrip. The motorcycle struck the rear passengers side of the dump trailer in lane one (the left lane) of 101. Four people were injured in a single vehicle crash just north of Allyn Sunday. The State Patrol says a 1998 Volvo S70 four-door was northbound on Highway 3 about 12 PM. At milepost 21.5, about a quarter mile north of Allyn, the Volvo swerved into the southbound lane to avoid a deer that was in the northbound lane. Five people were injured in a three-vehicle collision on U.S. Highway 101 in the Skokomish Valley Saturday night. According to a State Patrol collision memo, a 2008 Jeep Liberty was eastbound on Skokomish Valley Road just before 9 PM. The SUV failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection with U.S. 101. The Jeep struck the rear of a 2015 Mazda 3 that was southbound on 101. The Mazda spun several times and ended up in the northbound lane of 101. The Liberty continued and struck a 2006 Subaru Impreza Station Wagon which was northbound on 101. The Subaru came to rest at the stop sign. The collision block the highway for nearly an hour. Four people were injured in a three-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 101 at the intersection with Brockdale Road Friday afternoon. According to the State Patrol, around 12 PM, a 1992 Nissan Maxima was westbound on Brockdale stopped at the stop sign at Highway 101; a 2013 Ford Expedition towing a 1999 Tex utility flatbed trailer was northbound on 101 approaching Brockdale; and a fully loaded 2007 Kenworth Log Truck was southbound on 101 approaching Brockdale. The Nissan then entered the northbound lane of 101 to go southbound. The Expedition collided with the Nissan causing the Ford to leave the highway to the left and roll over. The collision also caused the utility trailer to break free which was then hit by the log truck. The Maxima left the roadway to the right, going off the northbound shoulder.
