Ice and speed contribute to a two-vehicle crash on Highway 3 Sunday morning near Mason Benson Road. According to the State Patrol, a southbound 2003 Honda Accord lost control on the icy roadway about 8 AM. The car entered the northbound lane and struck a 2003 Honda Element at milepost 15. A Belfair man died at the scene of a four-vehicle collision in Gorst Thursday morning and the causing driver was arrested.

A 19-year-old Seabeck woman was injured in a single vehicle crash on Highway 3 north of Belfair Monday morning. According to a State Patrol press memo, a 2003 Dodge Neon was southbound on SR-3 about 4:30 AM. At milepost 28, about a mile north of Belfair, the car left the roadway to the right and struck a large wood sign. The Mason County Sheriff’s Office has released the following information on Sunday’s traffic crash that injured a Deputy:
Early Sunday morning, November 1, 2015, Deputies were dispatched to a possible occupied burglary in progress within the Grapeview area. One of the responding Deputies crashed, sustaining a serious cut to his head and totaling his patrol vehicle. No other persons or vehicles were involved. A Mason County Sheriff’s Deputy was injured in a crash on Highway 3 early Sunday while responding to a call.
According to the State Patrol, Deputy Nathan A. Smith was responding to the call about 12:30 AM and driving the 2014 Ford Explorer southbound on Highway 3. At milepost 18, two miles south of Allyn, the Deputy lost control of the SUV (which is called “a Mason County Department Vehicle” in the collision memo). The memo then says patrol vehicle “rotated counter clockwise, struck a tree, left the roadway and came to rest on its side.” The highway was fully blocked for five hours. One person was injured when a car pulled in front of two motorcycles on Highway 302 near Victor Thursday afternoon. A State Patrol collision memo says the collision occurred about 2:15 PM near E. Victor Road which is three miles east of Allyn. A 2003 Subaru Legacy station wagon was pulling onto SR-302 from a private driveway. A 2009 Harley Davdidson V-Rod Muscle Motorcycle and a2010 Triumph Speedmaster Motorcycle were eastbound on 302. The Harley swerved to the left to avoid the station wagon but crashed into the front driver’s side of the Subaru. the Triumph swerved to the right to avoid the station wagon. No one was injured when a box truck crashed on Highway 302 near Victor Thursday morning. According to the State Patrol, the 2005 Freightliner van was westbound on SR-302 about 8 AM. At milepost 4.5, near Victor Road, the driver looked down at his GPS and the van went partially into the westbound ditch. He then attempted to correct the box truck to the left and lost control. A 23-year-old Belfair woman was injured when her car ran off Highway 106 two miles west of Belfair Wednesday night.
The State Patrol reports the crash occurred about 11:30 PM. A 2010 Acura TSX was eastbound on SR-106. At milepost 19, the driver fell asleep and the car left the roadway to the right and came to rest on its side. Continue reading One Injured in Crash on 106 west of Belfair
A Gig Harbor woman was injured in a single-vehicle crash on Highway 106 near Purdy Cut Off Road Sunday evening. According to a State Patrol collision memo, a 2002 Ford F250 pickup was eastbound on SR-106 about 6 PM. A Chehalis man was injured in a single-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 101 in Taylor Town Tuesday morning.
According to a State Patrol collision memo, 27-year-old Caleb L. Simons was southbound on 101 in a 1996 Ford Ranger pick up truck about 10:30 AM. Near the intersection with Lynch Road, 4.5 miles south of Shelton, the truck drifted off the highway into the median and collided with the cable barrier.
