A serious injury single vehicle rollover closed McEwan Prairie Road Monday morning. Specific information on the crash that occurred about 10:30 AM has not been released.
Several from the North Mason area were injured in a four-vehicle crash on Highway 3 near Lake Flora Road Thursday. According to the State Patrol, a 2004 Dodge pickup, a 2001 Volkswagen Jetta and a 2007 Chevrolet Uplander minivan were northbound on SR-3 about 3:30 PM. At milepost 29, near Lake Flora Road, the VW stopped for traffic. The Dodge was unable to stop and struck the Jetta. The Dodge then crossed the centerline and struck a southbound 2001 Toyota pickup. The driver of the Toyota then took evasive action, crossed the centerline and struck the minivan. The Dodge truck ended up in the southbound ditch. A Shelton man died in a single vehicle collision on Cloquallum Road. Details on the crash that occurred in the 7300 block about 12:30 AM Wednesday have not been released as the Mason County Sheriff’s Office is still investigating. However, the victim’s name has been released. Mason County Coroner Wes Stockwell identified the dead motorist as 62-year-old Albert (Ace) C. Legault. No other information is available at this time.
A Belfair woman died in a single car crash Sunday evening on the North Shore Road. Details on the crash at milepost 14 have not been released as the Mason County Sheriff’s Office is still investigating. Mason County Coroner Wes Stockwell released the name of the victim Tuesday morning: 21-year-old McKenzie F. Owens.
A Belfair man died in a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Highway 3 and Sunnyslope Road in Kitsap County Monday evening. According to the State Patrol, 66-year-old Craig S. Friend was on Sunnyslope Road in a 2008 Jeep Wrangler waiting to turn onto southbound SR-3 about 5 PM. The Jeep pulled onto Highway 3 into the path of a northbound 2000 Dodge Ram pickup. A Tahuya man was injured in a single-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 101 in Sequim Wednesday. A State Patrol press memo says that a 1986 Toyota pickup was eastbound on 101 about 2:55 PM. At milepost 267, which is the Sequim City Limits, the truck left the roadway to the right. The driver over corrected and the pick up cross the westbound lanes and came to rest in the westbound ditch. Another crash in Brinnon Saturday results in another airlift. A State Patrol report says this crash occurred just before 8 PM. A 1995 GMC Jimmy was northbound on U.S. Highway 101 while a 2015 Dodge 3500 Promaster van was southbound. At milepost 310, the van used the northbound lane to pass forcing the Jimmy to leave the roadway to the right to avoid a head-on collision. Bremerton Man Airlifted after SR-302 Crash
A Bremerton man was flown to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle after his car left Highway 302 and struck a tree south of Belfair Saturday morning. According to the State Patrol, the 1998 Oldsmobile Cutlass was eastbound on SR-302 just before 10 AM. No injuries were reported when a dump truck rolled over on U.S. Highway 101 Monday morning, blocking for three and a half hours. The State Patrol says the 1999 Peterbilt dump truck was towing a 1999 Sturdy transfer trailer northbound on 101 about 11:40 AM. The dump truck attempted to turn westbound onto Highway 102 (Dayton Airport Road). The speed of the Peterbilt was too fast and the trailer pushed the Peterbilt onto its side spilling its load. A Lacey man was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle after a two-vehicle head-on collision on Highway 3 at the intersection with Ecler Road Saturday night. According to the State Patrol, a 1999 Honda Civic was northbound in the southbound lane of SR-3 about 7:30 PM. The Honda struck a southbound 2007 GMC Acadia SUV head-on.
