A 22-year-old Belfair man was struck by a car on State Route 3 in Allyn Saturday afternoon. The State Patrol reports the incident occurred just before 4 PM at milepost 21 where the pedestrian attempted to cross the highway from east to west. Troopers are still investigating but a press memo says the man “collided with the vehicle” which was a southbound 2005 Toyota Camry.
A three-vehicle crash on Highway 3 at the Mason/Kitsap County Line injured two people from Belfair Tuesday afternoon. According to a State Patrol press memo, a 2010 Honda Fit and a 2000 Honda Odyssey Van were northbound on State Route 3 about 3 PM. The van was behind the car at “an unsafe distance.” At milepost 28, which is about a mile north of Belfair, the Fit slowed suddenly and the Odyssey struck it. The car then crossed the center line and struck a southbound 2015 Buick Encore SUV.
Three people were injured in a two-vehicle head-on collision on Highway 3 near Mason Lake Road Sunday evening. According to a State Patrol press memo, a 2007 Nissan Murano was northbound on SR-3 without its headlights on just before 8 PM. At milepost 7, the Nissan crossed into the southbound lane and collided head-on with a southbound 2010 Dodge Caravan. The collision closed State Route 3 for 90 minutes.
A 30-year-old Belfair man could face charges in a fatal two-car collision in Grays Harbor County Saturday night. A State Patrol press memo says a 1998 BMW 540 was northbound on State Route 109 about 9:30 PM. About three and a half miles northwest of Hoquim (at mile post 3.5), the BMW pass another northbound vehicle and struck a southbound 2002 Dodge Neon in the southbound lane. The BMW left the road to the left and came to rest on its side. The Neon came to rest n the middle of the highway. State Route 109 was blocked for nearly six and a half hours.
A Seattle woman was injured in a single-car crash on Highway 106 near Happy Hollow Tuesday night. According to a State Patrol press memo, a 1992 Subaru station wagon was eastbound on SR-106 about 6:30 PM. At Happy Hollow (milepost 15.2), the car failed to negotiate a curve and struck the ditch. The Subaru continued traveling until it hit a power pole where it came to rest.
A 53-year-old Shelton man was injured when the motorcycle he was riding collided with another motorcycle and a car in Jefferson County. According to the State Patrol, a 2011 Chevrolet Aveo four-door was northbound on U.S. Highway 101 about 10:30 AM. The car was followed by a 2002 Kawasaki VN750 motorcycle and a Honda CB 750 motorcycle. The Chevy signaled and stopped for traffic to make a left turn onto Leland Valley Road West (about five miles north of Quilcene). The Kawasaki slowed and steered to the right. The Honda struck the Kawasaki and then the car.
A 34-year-old Port Orchard woman was injured when the motorcycle she was riding struck a guardrail on U.S. Highway 101 Sunday night near Jorsted Creek. The State Patrol reports the 2016 Honda CB300P was northbound on 101 about 8:20 PM. At milepost 322 (south of Jorsted Creek), the the woman failed to negotiate a slight curve in the highway and hit the guardrail. The crash block the roadway for nearly four hours with traffic alternating on the southbound shoulder.
A Shelton woman was injured Thursday night when the brakes on her motorcycle failed during a ride in Grays Harbor County. A State Patrol press memo says the 66-year-old was northbound on Highway 109 about 7 PM. Near the intersection with Breckenridge Drive, four miles west of Hoquiam, she attempted to negotiate a curve when it “appears the brakes failed.” The 1995 Harley Davidson FLSTF motorcycle continued across the southbound lane and struck a guardrail on the southbound shoulder. The rider was ejected over the guardrail.
