The State Patrol is investigating a two-vehicle collision on Highway 302 Monday night that sent a Belfair motorcyclist to Seattle hospital. About 8:30 PM, a 2017 Harley Davidson was westbound on SR-302 and a 2012 Volkswagen Touareg was eastbound. At milepost 8 (near Wright Bliss), the Harley attempted to pass a westbound vehicle in a curve. When the motorcycle attempted to re-enter the westbound lane, it struck the VW in the eastbound lane. Both vehicles came to rest in the eastbound lane which was blocked for three hours.
An Olympia woman was injured Sunday when the Suburban she was in rolled over on U.S. Highway 101 south of Potltach State Park. A State Patrol press memo says the 1995 Chevrolet Suburban was southbound on 101 about 5:20 PM. At milepost 336, which is 12 miles north of Shelton and about a mile south of Potlatch State Park, the Chevy traveled off the southbound shoulder, entered the ditch and rolled onto its top.
A Belfair woman has died ten days after the SUV she was driving ran off Highway 16. On April 6, 2017, 39-year-old Celiece M. Bothwell was driving a 2000 Dodge Durango eastbound on SR-16. Just before 5 AM at milepost 19, the SUV left the roadway to the right and struck a tree. Bothwell was transported by aid car to Tacoma General Hospital. The State Patrol reports that Bothwell died at 12:45 PM Sunday.
A Belfair woman was injured when the SUV she was driving left Highway 16 and hit a tree Thursday morning. The State Patrol reports that a 2000 Dodge Durango was eastbound on SR-16 just before 5 AM. At milepost 19, which is near the weigh station about six miles east of Port Orchard, a press memo says, “For unknown reasons, the vehicle left the roadway to the right and struck a tree.”
A Shelton woman was involved in a three-vehicle crash on Highway 304 in Bremerton Tuesday morning. According to the State Patrol, the crash occurred near the intersection of Charlestons Boulevard (SR-304) and Charleston Beach Road West. (This location is northeast of Highway 3 and southwest of the Naval Ship Yard.) A 1998 Toyota Corolla, a 2008 Toyota Matrix and a 2003 Chrysler PT Cruiser were eastbound in lane two about 6:45 AM. The Corolla and Matrix stopped for traffic. The PT Cruiser struck the Matrix, pushing it into the Corolla.
A Hoodsport man was injured when his pickup rolled over on Highway 119 (Lake Cushman Road) Sunday afternoon. The State Patrol says the 1995 Dodge Ram pickup was northbound on SR-119 just after noon. About a mile west of Hoodsport, the driver lost control of the truck. The Dodge spun 180 degrees across the roadway, rolled onto the driver’s side and came to rest in the southbound ditch facing south.
Two people were injured in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 3 in Belfair Thursday night. According to a State Patrol press memo, a 2001 Ford Expedition and a 2000 Chevrolet Silverado pickup were northbound on SR-3 about 10:30 PM. At the intersection with Highway 300, the Expedition slowed for a flagger. The pickup didn’t and struck the rear of the Ford.
A 70-year-old Olympia man suffered a medical emergency Saturday evening while driving southbound on U.S. Highway 101. The State Patrol says Jerry N. Wilson was driving a 2010 Hyundai Genesis when he suffered the medial event about 6:45 PM. The car drifted to the left of the highway and struct the cable barrier near Steamboat Island Road (milepost 359). The Hyundai came to rest in the center median. No other cars were involved.
A two-vehicle head-on hit and run collision occurred on Highway 3 in Shelton Saturday night. Specific details have not been released but no serious injuries were reported. The crash occurred around 9:30 PM on Olympic Highway South at the intersection with E Harvard Avenue (north of Dirt Cheap Cycle; south of Tozier Brother’s).
