A truck hit three trees on U.S. Highway 101 near Brockdale Road early Sunday morning. The State Patrol says the 2002 Chevrolet Silverado was northbound on 101 about 4 AM when the driver fell asleep just north of Brockdale and the truck drifted off the highway to the west and struck the trees. A 42-year-old McCleary man involved in a crash with a deer last month has died. According to the State Patrol, Eric G. A man from Texas was injured in a motorcycle crash on U.S. Highway 101 Friday afternoon. The State Patrol reports Abel A. Gutierrez, 25 of New Braunfels, Texas, was southbound on a 2006 Harley Davidson Sportster motorcycle about 1:30 PM. A 19-year-old from Belfair and a 19-year-old from Allyn were involved in a collision with a Grays Harbor County Sheriff’s patrol car in Ocean Shores Monday. According to a State Patrol press memo, a 1997 Jeep Cherokee was exiting the parking lot of the Best Western hotel to go westbound on Damon Road about 11:20 PM. The SUV struck a westbound 2009 Dodge Charger, which was a fully marked Grays Harbor County Sheriff’s Office patrol car. No one was injured. A single-vehicle crash on Highway 302 near Victor left one person injured Wednesday and authorities are looking for a possible second vehicle.
According to a State Patrol press memo, a 2000 Dodge Neon was eastbound on SR-302 about 7:30 PM. At milepost 4, the Neon attempted to pass several other cars. The driver, Jason R. Cummins, 34 of Lakebay, lost control of the car and it left the roadway to the left. The Neon spun and came to rest in the center of the roadway. A woman from Forks was injured when her car left U.S. Highway 101 and struck some trees Wednesday morning north of Lilliwaup. A press memo from the State Patrol says 29-year-old Brandi N. Oswood was driving a 2007 Hyundai Sonata northbound on 101 about 6 AM. A deer caused damage to two vehicles on Highway 108 east of McCleary Tuesday afternoon. The State Patrol says an eastbound 1998 Suzuki Swift struck a deer in the roadway at mile post 4 about 1:30 PM. There was a fatal crash in Olympic National Forest near Spider Lake Saturday afternoon. Specific details have yet to be released. However, the Mason County Coroner’s Office has identified the victim as James A Gregersen, 20 of Port Orchard. The Mason County Sheriff’s Office is expected to release more information.
One driver was injured in a two-car collision on U.S. Highway 101 Monday morning. According to a State Patrol press memo, a 2010 Chevrolet Impala and and a 2011 Toyota Camry were southbound on 101 about 10:30 AM. Two were injured in a single-vehicle crash on Highway 3 in Belfair Sunday. The State Patrol reports that a 2005 Saturn Vue was southbound on SR-3 about 5:45 PM. At milepost 26, the SUV drifted through the turn lane, crossed the northbound lane, left the roadway, flipped and came to rest on its top in the parking lot of Randy’s Short Stop.
