An Aberdeen man was injured when the car he was driving went over an embankment on Highway 108 near Hurley Waldrip Road Monday. According to a State Patrol press memo, 39-year-old Earl A. Lusby was driving a 1995 Geo Prism westbound on SR-108 about 5:30 PM. At milepost 10.5, the car drifted off the roadway to the right, struck a tree on the driver’s side, then dropped down an embankment, coming to rest on its roof. Two people were injured in a three-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway near Holiday Beach Monday afternoon. The State Patrol reports that about 1 PM, a 2005 Damon Motorhome was merging onto southbound 101 from a slow vehicle turnout at milepost 329. A 2003 Honda CRV had slowed to let the motorhome back on the highway when a 1999 Chevrolet pickup truck struck the rear of the Honda and then hit the RV. Two people were injured in a two-vehicle collision in Hoodsport Sunday night. According to a collision memo from the State Patrol, a 1983 Honda Gold Wing motorcycle was northbound on U.S. Highway 101 about 8 PM. Near North Schoolhouse Hill Road (milepost 331.8), the motorcyclist turn left into a gas station in front of a southbound 1999 Toyota Camry. A car hit a power pole on Highway 108 west of Little Creek Casino Monday morning. The State Patrol reports a 1988 Toyota Camry was eastbound on SR-108 about 4:40 AM. Near milepost 11, the car drifted across the centerline. The driver overcorrected and entered the eastbound ditch. The driver overcorrected again and the Toyota crossed both lanes and entered the westbound ditch where it struck the power pole. A Shelton woman was injured after the car she was in was rear ended by a dump truck on Highway 3 Thursday morning. The State Patrol says a 1965 Ford Mustang and a 1990 Kenworth dump truck with a pup trailer were northbound on SR-3 about 7:30 AM. At milepost 19, two miles south of Allyn, the Mustang was making a left turn into Stretch Island Fruit. The dump truck slowed but ran into the back of the Ford. A pursuit on Highway 106 by the State Patrol ended with the fleeing vehicle crashing Monday afternoon. Specific details on the incident have not been released but initial reports say a Trooper began pursuing the vehicle west on SR-106 about 1 PM. After losing sight of the fleeing vehicle, a citizen found the car crashed off the highway. No other details are available as the investigation continues.

An apparent robbery led to a car chase, possible exchange of gunfire and a crash earlier Sunday morning. Specific details on the incident have yet to be released but initial reports say the robbery occurred shortly before 5 AM in the Allyn area. The victim then chased the suspect and there were reports of gunfire before a crash on Highway 3 near Belfair. It is not known at this time if anyone was injured or whether any arrests have been made. The Mason County Sheriff’s Office and the Washington State Patrol are investigating.
A 57-year-old woman was seriously injured in a single-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 101 north of Brinnon Wednesday morning. According to the State Patrol, Marilyn J. Smith was southbound on 101 in a 1998 Chevrolet Blazer about 8:30 AM. At milepost 304, which is two miles north of Brinnon, the Blazer left the roadway to the right, traveled in the ditch and struck a culvert abutment. A 54-year-old Brinnon man died in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 3 near Anthony Road Tuesday evening. According to a State Patrol collision memo, the name of the man has not been released pending notification of next of kin. The man was northbound in a 2005 Hyundai Accent just before 6 PM when he attempted to pass a vehicle that was stopped to turn left on Anthony Road.
