Thousands expected for trooper memorial in Kent

Officials expect thousands of people to attend the memorial service for slain Washington State Patrol Trooper Tony Radulescu Thursday in Kent, a 1 p.m. at the ShoWare Center. The state Patrol says a procession of law enforcement and emergency services personnel who worked with Radulescu will begin at 7:30 at the Kitsap Mall in Silverdale.

City Holding Another Hearing on Pot Gardens Moratorium

The Shelton City Commission will be holding another public hearing on the City’s moratorium on collective gardens for growing medical marijuana. The moratorium has been in place since last September and was enacted to give staff time to draft regulations governing these types of gardens allowed under of Engrossed Substitute Senate Bill 5073 which allows up to ten persons to join together and grow marijuana for their medical use.
