The Belfair Water District has been awarded a $1.9 Million loan from the Public Works Trust Fund to complete its Highway 3 Water Main Project. The Water District was one of 58 public infrastructure construction projects around the State to receive funding.
The City of Shelton’s Wastewater Improvement Program has won a category in the American Public Works Association Washington Chapter’s 2012 Project of the Year Award. The upgrades to the City’s sewer system won the Environment $25 – $75 Million category.
Paving near the City of Shelton’s Wastewater Treatment Plant will close Fairmount Road next week for a couple of days, weather permitting. According to City Engineer Mike Michael, this paving is part of the upgrades to the City’s Wastewater Treatment Plant which are nearing completion.
The Hood Canal School District has scheduled community forums for residents to meet the finalist for Superintendent. The District is looking to find a replacement for its current Superintendent, Tom Churchill, who will be taking over as head of the Meridian School District near Bellingham in July.
Jeff Davis is the chosen nominee for 35th District State Representative, Position 2 from the District’s Democratic Party. According to a news release, this determination was made by vote of the Democratic Precinct Committee Officers (PCOs) from the three-county district on Saturday, April 21st.
