The Mason County Shelter is holding a “Shelter Shuffle” walk/run fundraiser on Saturday, August 4th. The Shelter Shuffle is being held at Loop Field in Shelton and starts at 9 AM. This is a 2.6 mile walk and a 5 mile run.
Construction on Grapeview Loop Road will impact access to the Grapeview Water and Arts Festival Saturday. Mason County Public Works has closed Grapeview Loop Road at milepost 3, which is just east of Murray Road, so those wising to attend this annual event hosted by the Grapeview Community Association and the Fair Harbor Marina will need to use the northern most end of Grapeview Loop Road. That is the end closest to Allyn.
A ribbon cutting has been set for the Belfair Wastewater and Water Reclamation Facility. The Mason County Commissioners will be joined at 8 AM Monday (July 30th) by Congressman Norm Dicks and Bob Bergquist of the Washington State Department of Ecology at the Water Reclamation Facility in Belfair (22250 SR 3 – near milepost 28 across from Belfair Yard “Log” Road). The public is encouraged to attend.
A spaghetti dinner and concert to help with medical expenses for a local man who suffered a stroke while vacationing in Mexico are scheduled for Saturday night. Art Erickson, who lives in McCleary and works for Manke Family Resources in Shelton, has been in a hospital in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico since June 22nd when he suffered the massive stroke.
