Mason County Garbage employees, vendors and corporate office together with Transmissions Plus raised funds to purchase and assemble forty bikes and helmets to donate to Toys for Kids to distribute to needy children this Christmas.
Sherwood Guild, a chapter of Mason General Hospital Foundation, will host the 2015 “Cooking with Xinh” dinner event on two nights – Sunday, March 22 or Monday, March 23, at 6 p.m. Seating is limited, so reservations must be made by Monday, March 17. Tickets are $50 each, and can be purchased by calling MGH Foundation office at (360) 427-3623.
As part of a purchase agreement, Safeway stores will become Haggen stores next year. Last week, Pacific Northwest grocery chain announced that it has entered into an agreement to acquire 146 stores as part of the divestment process brought about by the Federal Trade Commission’s (FTC) review of the Albertson’s LLC and Safeway merger. Two of those stores are in Mason County.
Bob and Melanie Appel received the 2014 Flame Award during Mason General Hospital Foundation’s’ Annual Fantasy Forest Gala and Auction in November. Each year, MGH Foundation honors an outstanding individual(s) from the community who demonstrates strong support of the Foundation and of MGH&FC. In 2013, Bob retired from his position as CEO for MGH&FC. He and his wife, Melanie, have been endless supporters of MGH&FC and the community for more than 20 years. Melanie is also retired, but continues to follow her passion in volunteering her time to the importance of literacy and teaching English as a second language.
On Friday, February 7, 2015 at 6 p.m., the Shelton Presbyterian Church will host Love INC’s annual Soup & Song Benefit Concert. The church is located at 1430 Shelton Springs Road in Shelton, and entry is by donation, with a suggested amount of $10.
The founder and president of “All K-9’s Go To Heaven”, Marti Tennant, joined together with a Seattle Seahawks football player and purchased a K-9 Storm Kevlar “bullet proof” vest for $2,300.00. The vest was then donated to the Mason County Sheriff’s Office patrol K-9 “Solo”.
