Shelton Bowlers Blank Bellarmine; Shelton Wrestlers slip by CK; NM Wrestlers Win Two
The Shelton girls’ bowling team blanked Bellarmine Prep Thursday 7 to 0 despite the Lions’ Katrina Vercillo having a 424 series. Vercillo rolled a 213 in game one and a 211 in game two but had little help from the rest of the Bellarmine team with the second highest total 107 pins below Vercillo’s total. The Highclimbers had four of their five bowlers with total over 300 lead by Mishawn Ewart’s 370 series. Shelton high game was rolled by Danielle Ewart who had a 251 in game two. The ‘Climbers wrap up the regular season Tuesday when they host Central Kitsap at Westside Lanes in Olympia.
The Shelton wrestling team slipped by Central Kitsap 36 to 34 Thursday. The Highclimbers won eight weight classes with Malachi Conklin and Colby Barber winning by pins and Jesus Nunez winning in overtime 3 to 1. Shelton hosts Olympia next Thursday.
The North Mason wrestling team won a double duel Thursday beating Bremerton 51 to 21 and crushing Port Townsend 70 to 12. Against the Knights, the Bulldogs won ten weight classes with Jacob Coffelt and Chase Davis winning by pin. Against the Redskins, the boys from Belfair took all but one weight class with Matt Zink, Rene Gaspar, Tyler Grewell, Morgan Grewell, Tevin Goodwin andChase Davis winning by pin. North Mason heads to the Westberg Invite Saturday in Ellensburg.
