A winter storm watch is in effect for the Hood Canal area from late tonight (Monday) through Tuesday afternoon (Christmas Day). Specific area mentions in the notice from the National Weather Service include Shelton, Belfair Brinnon and Hoodsport. Forecasters say snow is expected to start early Christmas morning and continue throughout the day before changing to rain or a rain and snow mix.
