The North Mason boys‘ basketball team was held to just 10 first half points and Kingston cruised to a 71 to 44 victory over the Bulldogs. The boys from Belfair only hit 3 for their 23 shots in the first half (13%) while the Buccaneers hit 13 of 30 (43%).
North Mason’s shooting improved in the second half (13 of 24 – 54%) but so did Kingston’s (16 of 27 – 59%).
For the game the Bulldogs shot 32% while the Buccaneers shot 51%. North Mason did have three players score in double digits led by Matt Duckwork’s 15 points. Riley McKean and CJ Allen both finished with 10 points each. Kingston was led by Hans Shippers’ 14 points, KT Deam add 12 and Kyle Hamal chipped in 10. Those three starters didn’t play in the fourth quarter. The Bucs evened their record at 4-and-4, 3-and-3 in the Olympic League. The boys from Belfair dropped to 1-and-8 on the season, 1-and-6 in League play. The Bulldogs travel to Klahowya Friday. The North Mason girls‘ basketball team was held to two points in the third quarter and played Kingston even in the fourth but lost 37 to 23. The Lady Bulldogs were led in the loss by Julie Johnson’s 10 points. The girls from Belfair fell to 1-and-8 on the season. They host Klahowya Friday.
