The winter weather advisory remains in effect until 10 AM Wednesday. The advisory specifically names the Hood Canal area – Hoodsport and Brinnon. Forecasters say lowland snow showers are possible after midnight with as much as 4 inches of accumulation possible before warmer air moves in. The specific forecast for Shelton, Belfair, Hoodsport, Lilliwaup, Matlock, Union, and Tahuya has rain and snow showers after 10 PM with the snow level dropping from 900 feet to 300 feet. Temperatures will also drop to freezing about 8 PM and then slowly rise to the upper 30s by 2 AM. Most areas could see an inch or two of snow accumulation. Just rain is forecast for the rest of the week.
