MMK Splits Games with Three Rivers; NM Falls to Olympic; SHS Loses to SK; NM Wrestler in Semis at Hammer Head Tourney

 

The Mary M. Knight girls’ basketball team improved to 5-and-0 on the season after knocking off Three Rivers Christian Friday 35 to 35. The Lady Owls travel to Neah Bay next Friday, December 21st.

 

The Mary M. Knight boys’ basketball team fell to Three Rivers Christian Friday night 41 to 35. The Owls are now 4-and-2 on the season. They travel to South Bend on Wednesday.

 

The North Mason boys’ basketball team was unable to recover from a two-point first quarter and continued its difficulty scoring in a 67 to 21 loss to Olympic Friday night. The Bulldogs were held to single digit scoring in each quarter. Matt Duckworth led the boys from Belfair in the loss with 12 points. North Mason drops to 1-and-7 on the season, 1-and-5 in the Olympic League. They host Kingston Tuesday in a game that will be on MasonWebTV.com. The Trojans, on the other hand, improved to 6-and-1 on the season, 5-and-0 in League play. They have a showdown with Bremerton next week that will determine who is tops in the League.

 

Despite 21 points from Jennifer Hicks, the North Mason girls’ basketball team came up five points short of Olympic Friday night, losing 39 to 34. The Lady Bulldogs dropped to 1-and-7 on the season, 0-and-6 in the Olympic League. They travel to Kingston Tuesday.

 

The Shelton boys’ basketball team couldn’t quite keep up with South Kitsap Friday night as the Highclimbers fell to the Wolves 47 to 35. Colton Hubble led Shelton in the loss with 9 points. The ‘Climbers drop to 1-and-5 on the season and host Mount Tahoma Wednesday.

 

The Shelton girls’ basketball team continued to struggle, falling 54 to 14 at South Kitsap Friday. The Lady ‘Climbers take their 0-and-7 record to Mount Tahoma Wednesday.

 

At the Hammer Head Wrestling Tournament at the Kitsap Pavilion, North Mason’s Chase Davis won three matches at 195 pounds Friday and has advanced to the Saturday’s semifinals.
