Rain Causing Problems on Area Roads

The amount of rain that has been falling is causing all kinds of problems on area roads. While the flood warning remains in effect for the Skokomish River, a flood advisory has been issued for urban and small streams. As the rain continues to fall, officials are warning of the “ponding” of water on area roads, low lying areas and highway underpasses. Another inch and a half of rain could fall by 7 PM which could cause smaller streams to overflow and cause landslides. Flooding in the Skokomish Valley has closed Skokomish Valley Road and a mudslide has close Purdy Cut Off Road. Please drive with caution and allow extra time to reach your destination safely.
