Fancy Image Yarn Brings Community Together for Survivors of Domestic Violence

Turning Pointe Domestic Violence Services, the local women’s shelter serving Mason County received a beautiful handmade Afghan presented to the Board of Directors by Fancy Image Yarn owner Myra Garcia. According to a news release, Fancy Image specializes’ in Hand dyed Yarns which Myra made available to anyone in her shop that wanted to sit for a spell and knit a section or two of this beautiful afghan. Myra wanted to do something that could bring comfort to women who had to leave their homes to seek safety and shelter, often with only the clothes on their backs. She felt that her customers would feel the same, so, she put the pattern and yarn together with the intention of donating the afghan to the women of Turning Pointe. Turning Pointe, located in Shelton and Belfair, provides services 24/7 to all of Mason County for anyone struggling with the devastating impact of domestic and sexual violence.
