Mason County Commission Candidates Debate Thursday

All six candidates running for the three seats on the Mason County Commission will be participating in a debate Thursday night at Hawkins Middle School Gymnasium in Belfair. The debate is being sponsored by the North Mason Community Voice, the North Mason Chamber of Commerce and MasonWebTV.com.
MasonWebTV.com will have a live video stream of the debate beginning at 6:45 PM. (MasonWebTV.com will also have the debates available online, on demand. Hood Canal Communications will be airing the debates on their local access channel at a date to be determined.) Joel Myer will be the moderator. The debate will start with the candidates running for Commissioner District 3: Terry Jeffries and Ross Gallagher. The candidates running for Commissioner District 1, Randy Neatherlin and Denny Hamilton will follow. And the evening will end with Roslyn Reed and Tim Sheldon, who are running for Commissioner District 2. Those wishing to submit questions for the candidates can do so before the debates begin.

On October 11th, the North Mason Community Voice, the North Mason Chamber of Commerce and MasonWebTV.com will be holding another debate featuring the candidates running for the two 35th District State Representative seats: Dan Griffey and Kathy Haigh who are running for Position 1; and Drew MacEwen and Lynda Ring-Erickson who are running for Position 2. That debate will also be held at the Hawkins Middle School Gymnasium in Belfair and begin at 6:45 PM. MasonWebTV.com will also have a live video stream of those debates.

On October 16th, the Shelton Mason County Chamber of Commerce, the League of Women Voters of Mason County and MasonWebTV.com are holding a candidates’ forum for the candidates running for Mason County Commissioner and 35th District State Representative. That forum will be held at Oakland Bay Junior High School in Shelton beginning at 6 PM. MasonWebTV.com will also be video streaming this forum.

On October 2nd, the Hood Canal Improvement Club is holding a dinner and candidates’ forum in the Union Community Hall (upstairs of Fire District 6 office) 50 E. Seattle Street in Union. The dinner (Walking Tacos & cookies – $5.00 to the general public) begins at 6 PM with the forum starting at 6:45 PM. This forum will feature the candidates running for Mason County Commission, 35th District State Representative, and Mason County PUD No. 1 Commissioner District 3: Jack Janda and Willie Pierce.
