Shelton City Commission Meets Monday Night
The Shelton City Commission meets Monday night at 6 PM. Top item on the agenda is a discussion on possibly imposing a moratorium on impact fees. The Shelton City Commissioners meet in the courtroom at the Civic Center.
Mason County Commission Meets Tuesday Morning
The Mason County Commission is holding its regular business meeting at 9 AM Tuesday. There are two public hearings and nine “Action Agenda” items on the County Commissioners’ draft agenda. The hearings begin at 9:30 AM. The first hearing is to consider written objections to the proposed rates and charges for Lake Management District – Island Lake. The second hearing is on a requested rezone by Sherry Kapaun to rezone 2.05 acres along Shelton Matlock Road near Dayton from Rural Residential 5 to Rural Commercial 2.
The Mason County Commissioners are holding briefings on Monday morning beginning at 9 AM ending with a closed session for a labor discussion at 11:45 AM.
Port of Shelton Commission Meets Tuesday Afternoon
The Port of Shelton Commission meets Tuesday afternoon at 2 PM. During the meeting in the Commissioners’ Boardroom at the Port’s Office at 21 West Sanderson Way the Port Commissioners will get an update on the Johns Prairie Water Line, possibly take action on bid for harvesting timber at John Prairie, and continue discussion and possibly take action on the Future Use Plan for the Fairgrounds. The regular business meetings of the Port of Shelton Commission are open to the public.
Save Shelton NJROTC Tuesday Night
A community meeting to discuss the next steps to save the Shelton NJROTC (Navy Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps) is set for 6:30 PM Tuesday night in the P.U.D. 3 auditorium on Johns Prairie Road. The Shelton unit is on the Navy’s list of units to be disestablished next year due to its failure to meet statutory and NJROTC regulatory minimum enrollment. The Navy is offering Shelton the opportunity to host Navy National Defense Cadet Corps (NNDCC) units which are modeled on the NJROTC program but primarily funded by host schools.
Ballots for Primary Election Due Tuesday Night
Ballots for the Primary Election need to be returned to the Mason County Auditor’s Office by 8 PM Tuesday night or in the mail no later than Tuesday. Election officials will release unofficial results from the August 7th Primary after 8 PM. MasonWebTV.com will post election results as soon as they are available.
