The Klahowya basketball teams knocked off North Mason Tuesday night.
In the boys’ game, the Eagles held off the Bulldogs for a 73 to 69 victory. Klahowya broke open a close game in the third quarter building a 15 point lead but the boys from Belfair fought their way back and closed to within three late in the ball game. However, untimely North Mason turnovers combined with the Eagles hitting their free throws in the fourth quarter, lifted Klahowya to their fourth win of the season and left the Bulldogs still looking for their second victory. The Eagles had four players score in double figures led by Clark Rose who finished with 24 points. Mitch Flowers added 23, Josh Ganowski chipped in 12. And Drew Fagan had 11. North Mason’s Anthony Price led all scorers with 32 points as the Bulldogs also had four players score in double digits. Austin Sandquist added 14 in the loss. Rily McKean had 13. And Evan Daley chipped in 10. Klahowya takes its 4-and-7 record to Port Townsend Friday. North Mason, at 1-and-10, will host North Kitsap Friday on MasonWebTV.com.
