Ribbon Cutting for Belfair Sewer Monday Morning

A ribbon cutting for the Belfair Wastewater and Water Reclamation Facility is set for 8 AM Monday morning. The Mason County Commissioners will be joined by Congressman Norm Dicks and Bob Bergquist of the Washington State Department of Ecology at the Water Reclamation Facility in Belfair (22250 SR 3 – near milepost 28 across from Belfair Yard “Log” Road). The public is encouraged to attend.

 

Shelton City Commission Meets Monday Afternoon

The Shelton City Commission meets Monday afternoon at 2 PM. During the study session in one of the conference rooms in the Civic Center, the City Commissioners will hear the second quarter report from the Shelton-Mason County Historical Society and present Olympic Achievement Awards. The Commission will then be briefed on appointments to the Canyon Creek Citizens Advisory Committee, discuss a change order on the Basin 5 project, and be given the annual report from the City Administrator.

 

Mason County Commission Meets in Belfair Tuesday Night

The Mason County Commission meets in Belfair Tuesday night at 6 PM. This “Fifth Tuesday” meeting is also a joint workshop with the Belfair Water District as there will be a report on the Water District’s infrastructure plan and rate structure. County Staff will also report on recently adopted changes allowing holding tanks as an exception to mandatory sewer connections for new development in the Belfair Urban Growth Area. The Mason County Commissioners’ Fifth Tuesday meeting in Belfair will be held at the North Mason School District Administration Building, 71 E. Campus Drive, in Belfair.

 

Central Mason Fire Meets Wednesday Morning

The Board of Commissioners from Central Mason Fire & EMS (Mason County Fire District 5) is holding a budget workshop at 9 AM Wednesday morning followed by a regular business meeting at 10 AM. The Fire Commissioners meet in the meeting room at Station 58, the Shelton Fire Hall. The public is encouraged to attend.

 

Dedication for New Surgery Wing at MGH Wednesday Afternoon

The public is invited to the Dedication Ceremony and Open House for Mason General Hospital & Family of Clinics’ new Surgery Wing on Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at 3:30 p.m. at the Hospital’s South Entrance. The event’s keynote speaker will be Lieutenant Governor Brad Owen.

 

Fire Chiefs and Fire Commissioners Meeting Thursday Night

A joint meeting of the Fire Commissioners and Fire Chiefs in Mason County is set for 7 PM Thursday night. The meeting is being held at the Shelton Civic Center.

 

Shelter Shuffle Saturday

The Mason County Shelter is holding a “Shelter Shuffle” walk/run fundraiser on Saturday, August 4th. The Shelter Shuffle is being held at Loop Field in Shelton and starts at 9 AM. This is a 2.6 mile walk and a 5 mile run. Entrance fee is $25 with includes a T-shirt and prizes will be awarded. The proceeds will go to support the homeless shelter for families with children in Mason County. The Mason County Shelter is located on First Street in downtown Shelton across from Dairy Queen.
