Two men from Shelton were injured in a one-car rollover on U.S. Highway 101 Saturday afternoon. The State Patrol says 42-year-old Randy A. Baca was driving the 1995 Oldsmobile northbound on 101 at a high rate of speed about 3:30 PM. Just south of the intersection with Highway 108 and Little Creek Casino, Baca completed a pass and drove onto the left shoulder. He then overcorrected, crossed both northbound lanes and went into the soft shoulder. The Oldsmobile then rolled and came to rest on its top in one of the northbound lanes, blocking the highway. Baca was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle with serious injuries. His passenger, 27-year-old Michael A. Fountinelle was transported to Mason General Hospital with undisclosed injuries. The Trooper report says the cause of this rollover was speed and unsafe passing and Baca could face vehicular assault charges.
