Flood Warning Cancelled; Flood Advisory Issued

The flood warning for the Skokomish River has been replaced with a flood advisory. The National Weather Service says the front that brought locally heavy rainfall to the area has passed to the east and showers are now expected. Also snow levels have dropped to around 3000 feet and are expected to fall to 2000 feet by tonight (Friday, December 30, 2011). The River will remain around 16 feet today and then fall below the 15.5-foot advisory stage this evening. The River may still spill over its banks in low areas of the Skokomish Valley.

Conditions can change rapidly so those in the Skokomish Valley should remain prepared to act as there is a 100% chance of rain again today but that drops to 70% tonight and to 30% over the weekend.
