Gas Prices on the Rise

The price of gas is on the rise. The average price of a gallon of gas in Washington is $4.20. That’s up 15 cents in the past week; nine cents higher than a month ago; 18 cents high than a year ago; and 46 cents higher than the national average. (MasonWebTV.com noticed one gas station raised its price 13 cents from Friday to Saturday.) GasBuddy.com says the trend is for prices to continue to rise. In the Shelton area, gas prices range from $4.13 to $4.29. In Belfair, a gallon of gas will cost you between $3.95 and $4.38. Diesel will run you 30 to 60 cents more a gallon.

  1. A more cynical person might think prices are being tweaked to promote more aggressive energy exploration/transportation/generation policies. I say, bring it on; maybe then we can build something better out of the ashes.
