Results from SHS track & field; NM softball & soccer
In track and field Thursday, Tumwater outpaced Shelton, 89 to 46 on the boys side and the girls’ score was 86 to 44. However, the Highclimbers took the top three spots in the boys’ pole vault, the boys’ shot put, and the girls’ discus. Shelton finished one and two in the girls’ 3200 meters, and placed first and third in both the girls’ hurdles events.
Kyle McGregor won the boys’ shot put and discus.
Victoria Silverman took the girls’ 100 meter hurdles and the 300 meter hurdles.
Jazlind Warren took the girls’ shot put and discus, and was 3rd in the javelin.
Jaron Sartori won the boys’ high jump and was 2nd in the long jump.
Lukas Szalonek won the boys’ pole vault and placed 2nd in the boys’ long jump and 3rd in the boys’ high jump.
Alauna Carstens was 1st in the girls’ 3200 meters.
Mary Jane Hageman finished 3rd in the girls’ 100 meter hurdles and 300 meter hurdles.
Sebastian Engel placed 2nd in the boys’ shot put and was 3rd in the discus.
Raquel Ruiz finished 2nd in the girls’ discus.
Kennadi Ward placed 2nd in the girls’ long jump and 3rd in the 100 meters.
Mario Boxley took 2nd in the boys’ javelin.
Ryan MacKiewicz finished 2nd in the boys’ pole vault.
Kaden Pearson took 2nd in the boys’ 200 meters.
Francine Burlette placed 2nd in the girls’ 400 meters.
Jaydon Blackburn finished 2nd in the 1600 meters.
Ali Clifton placed 2nd in the girls’ 3200 meters.
Anthony Warren-Keyzers was 3rd in the boys’ shot put.
Taylin VanDyke placed 3rd in the girls’ discus.
Emma Bloomfield took 3rd in the girls’ high jump.
Delfina Ramierez was 3rd in the girls’ long jump.
Dominic Dixon finished 3rd in the boys’ pole vault.
Nathan Gomez was 3rd in the boys’ 200 meters.
Landon Bursch placed 3rd in the boys’ 400 meters.

The North Mason fastpitch softball team lost at Bremerton Thursday 14 to 4 in six innings. The Bulldogs scored in the top of the first inning when Audrey Johnson hit a two-run double but the Knights exploded for six runs in the second and built an 8 to 2 lead after four. NM got two runs back in the fifth when Amber Johnson hit an inside the park home run and Sarah Pruitt stole home. The Knights responded with four runs in their half of the inning and closed it out in the sixth with two more runs.
Tuesday Palmer started the game for North Mason and surrendered seven runs on six hits over three innings, striking out one. Chloe Lewis threw two and two-thirds innings in relief out of the bullpen.
Amber Johnson was 3 for 3 at the plate with a home run and two runs scored. Audrey Johnson was 1 for 3 with a double and two RBI. Sarah Pruitt was 2 for 3 and scored two runs. Mandy Cole went 2 for 3. And Tuesday Palmer was 1 for 3.
The Lady Bulldogs are now 2-and-2 on the season. They host Kingston Monday.
The North Mason boys’ soccer team was shut out at Central Kitsap two-nil (2 to 0). The Bulldogs drop to 0-and-2 on the season and travel to North Kitsap Thursday, April 8th.
