The North Mason fastpitch softball team scored 13 runs in the first inning on the way to a 23 to 3 five-inning victory over Klahowya Wednesday.
In the first, the Bulldogs scored on a triple by Amber Johnson, a double by Tuesday Palmer, a double by Alyssa Hatfield, a double by Mandy Cole, a walk by Alexia Serebryakov, a single by Johnson, a walk by Jill Maiuri, a fielder’s choice by Palmer, a home run by Audrey Johnson, and a walk by Serebryakov.
Chloe Lewis was the winning pitcher, allowing two hits and one run over two innings, striking out three and no walks. Alyssa DiMatteo threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen.
The girls from Belfair pounded out 21 hits. Audrey Johnson went 2 for 2 at the plate with a home run, four RBI and scored three runs. Mandy Cole was 3 for 5 with a double and four RBI. Alexiz Serebryakov walked three times, forcing in three runs and scored twice. Amber Johnson went 3 for 3 with a triple, two RBI and scored two runs. Jill Maiuri hit a two-run double. And Allyssa Hatfield had an RBI double.
North Mason improves to 2-and-0 on the season. They host Port Angeles Friday, March 26th. First pitch is 4:15 PM.
