The North Mason football team dropped a defensive battle with Klahowya Friday night as the Bulldogs fell to the Eagles 13 to 7. The boys from Belfair scored first with Caden North backing into the end zone from a yard out in the first quarter. Klahowya answered late in the second quarter on a 31-yard TD pass from Damon Clarke to Jake Manavie. The score remained 7-7 until late in the fourth quarter when the Eagles’ Manavie picked off a pass and returned it 88 yards for what turned out to be the winning score.
North Mason falls to 1-and-1 on the season as does Klahowya. The Bulldogs host South Kitsap next Saturday while the Eagles will face Shelton in Silverdale. Both games kick off at 1 PM.
