A section of State Route 302 near Victor will remain closed until further notice after heavy rainfall triggered roadway sloughing. The highway is closed between milepost 4 to 8. The travelers can get around the closure via SR 3 and SR 16.
The closure is required as a section of highway has settled across both lanes of traffic.
Washington State Department of Transportation maintenance crews are the process of identifying what work is needed to re-open the highway.
The settlement area is located west of the area repaired in 2017 where crews bolstered a 170-foot section of SR 302 adjacent to Puget Sound that had regularly settled.
