The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch for Mason County. The Flood Watch is effective through Thursday afternoon.
Forecasters say widespread rain, heavy at times, is expected to continue across the southern portions of the Olympics through Wednesday. This may push the Skokomish River above flood stage late Wednesday morning. The river is expected to crest above 17 feet about 10 PM, drop below the 16.5-foot flood stage Thursday morning and rise again Saturday morning, reaching moderate flood stage (17.5 feet) by Saturday afternoon. This repeated rise and fall will continue to at least next Tuesday.
