Heavy rainfall will lead to the threat of river flooding in the Skokomish Valley Wednesday into the weekend.
A series of wet weather systems will move across Western Washington Tuesday night into the weekend. For the first system on Tuesday night into Wednesday, snow levels will be in the 4000-5500 foot range across the Olympic Peninsula with heavy rainfall of 2 to 5 inches expected. Additional heavy rainfall is likely on Friday into the weekend. The Skokomish River near Potlatch may rise above flood stage Wednesday, recede slightly in between systems, and then rise again, potentially above moderate flood stage, for the weekend.
