Mason County COVID-19 Report Monday: 1 Death, 38 New Cases

Mason County Public Health reported one additional COVID-19 related death and 38 new cases of COVID-19 in the County on Monday, December 14, 2020.

There have now been a dozen Mason County residents who have died from COVID-19. Although specific information has not been released, the deceased appears to be a man in the 20 to 39 age group.

The number of active COVID-19 case in Mason County is now 140 with three people hospitalized. The County’s rate of new cases per 100,000 over the last two weeks is now 285. This number is calculated using a population of 64,980 and 185 new cases in the past 14 days.

The December 14th, 2020 – 4:00 p.m. news release says: “Since the last release (12/11/20), Mason County Public Health was notified of Thirty-Eight (38) additional Mason County residents that tested positive for COVID-19. This brings the total to One Thousand and Nine (1,009) positive cases in Mason County. We have unfortunately been notified of an additional COVID-19 related death of a Mason County Resident. Our thoughts are with the family during this time.”
