Mason County Public Works is advising motorist that county crews will begin a maintenance project on Skokomish Valley Road, between Vance and Swift Creek the week of December 14, 2020. The project is a temporary improvement, intended to reduce the number of road closures due to flooding. Crews will elevate the roadway at the lowest spot near Swift Creek crossing and construct an ecology block wall along a portion of the river side of the road.
The road will remain open during the project; however, motorist should plan for some delays due to lane closures and material deliveries. A reader board will advise people of delays. The project will take approximately three-weeks to complete, weather permitting.
