A Belfair man faces multiple charges after a three-vehicle crash in Purdy Monday night that injured one.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the 29-year-old was driving a 2005 Chevrolet sedan eastbound on State Round 302 about 7:15 PM. At the intersection with Goodnough Drive NW in Purdy, he passed a 2008 Toyota Yaris on the right, lost control and came to rest on the eastbound shoulder. This caused the Toyota to cross the centerline and strike a westbound 2007 Kia Sorento, blocking the westbound lane of SR-302 for nearly four hours.
The only injury reported was to the driver of the Toyota, a 59-year-old University Place man, who was transported to Tacoma General Hospital.
The cause of the crash is under investigation but a press memo indicates that drugs or alcohol were involved. The memo also says the Belfair man was booked into Pierce County Jail and faces charges that include DUI, Vehicular Assault and Resisting.
