Shelton Man Dies Days after Sequim Crash

The Washington State Patrol reported Sunday that a 23-year-old Shelton man has died from injuries sustain in a crash near Sequim on November 13, 2020. A press memo identifies the man as Justin J. Thompson-Petersen.

The State Patrol says Thompson-Petersen was driving a 2002 Mazda Protégé westbound on U.S. Highway 101 near the intersection with Carlsborg Road about 3 PM that Friday. Investigators believe the Mazda failed to stop at a red light, struck a southbound GMC and spun into the back of a westbound Chevy. Three other people were injured in the collision. Cause of the crash remains under investigation but speed may have been a contributing factor.
