Another COVID-19 Death & 13 New Cases in Mason County Thursday

There has been another death of a Mason County resident attributed to the coronavirus pandemic. Mason County Public Health reported the County’s 11th death Thursday, November 19, 2020 along with 13 new COVID-19 cases in the County. Although specific information has not been released, the deceased appears to be a male in the 60 to 79 age range. With Thursday’s 13 new cases, the number of active cases increased to 63 with four people hospitalized. Mason County’s rate per 100,000 during the prior two weeks (based on 64,980 population and 96 new cases in the last 14 days) has also increased and is now 148, up from 143 on Wednesday.

The November 19th, 2020 – 4:00 p.m. news release says: “Since the last release (11/18/20), Mason County Public Health was notified of Thirteen (13) additional Mason County residents that tested positive for COVID-19. This brings the total to Seven Hundred and One (701) positive cases in Mason County. We have unfortunately been notified of an additional COVID-19 related death of a Mason County Resident. Our thoughts are with the family during this time.”
