A three-vehicle chain reaction crash on Highway 3 near Bayshore sent one person to the hospital Friday afternoon.
According to the Washington State Patrol, a 2020 Ford truck and a 2010 Chevrolet truck were stopped for traffic on northbound State Route 3 at milepost 6.7 about 3:30 PM when a northbound 2004 Chevrolet truck failed to stop, locked its brakes, rear-ended the 2010 Chevy which was pushed into the 2020 Ford.
A passenger in the 2004 Chevy, a 49-year-old Rainier woman, was the only person injured. She was transported to Mason General Hospital in Shelton.
A press memo indicates that the cause of the crash was “exceeding reasonable safe speed” and the driver of the 2004 Chevy, a 51-year-old Rainier man, faces speeding charges.
