A motorcycle, speeding and weaving through traffic, hit a car on U.S. Highway 101 Friday afternoon near the Shelton-Matlock Road.

The Washington State Patrol says the 2019 Kawasaki ZX1000 motorcycle was northbound on 101 “at a high rate of speed, weaving in and out of traffic” about 3:45 PM. Just north of the Shelton Matlock Road, the motorcycle struck the rear of a northbound 2008 Toyota Prius.
The 29-year-old Olympia man on the motorcycle was injured and transported to Mason General Hospital in Shelton.
The driver of the Prius, a 49-year-old Allyn woman was not injured.
A press memo indicates that drugs or alcohol were involed in this crash and the motorcyclist faces DUI and Reckless Driving charges.
