Deer Creek Head-On Crash Injures Four

Four Shelton residents – including two children – were injured Sunday morning in a head-on crash on Highway 3 near Deer Creek.

The Washington State Patrol says a 1997 Freigthliner dump truck was southbound on State Route 3 about 11:45 AM. Just south of Deer Creek Road, the dump truck crossed the center line and struck a northbound 2012 Dodge Journey head-on.

The four females in the Dodge – ages 8, 10, 30 and 34 – were transported by ambulance to Mason General Hospital in Shelton.

The driver of the dump truck, a 60-year-old Shelton man, was not injured.

Cause of the crash is under investigation. A press memo indicates that drugs or alcohol were NOT involved in this crash.
