Shelton Accepting Tourism Funding Grant Applications

The City of Shelton is accepting applications for tourism funding grants, allocated through the City’s lodging tax fund.

Applications and grant criteria can be found online through the City’s website. The application period is August 1 through August 31, 2020.

Interested applicants can attend a virtual information session on Thursday, July 30 at 10:30 a.m. The information session will be livestreamed via MasonWebTV. Finance Director Aaron BeMiller will provide grant information and be available to answer questions.

Past grant recipients include Christmastown USA and the Mason County Forest Festival.

Completed applications will be reviewed by the City’s Lodging Tax Advisory Committee, who will then submit their recommendations to City Council.

The City collects a 4% tax on lodging within Shelton city limits, which is dedicated for the use of promoting tourism, supporting the operations of tourism-related facilities and activities, and general operations of special events and festivals designed to attract tourists to Shelton.
