Crash by Drive-In Injures Two

A two-vehicle crash on Highway 3 at the Rodeo Drive-In (north of the Bremerton Airport) injured two – one seriously.

A Washington State Patrol press memo says a northbound 2007 Chevrolet Silverado pickup veered left, crossed the center turn lane and sideswiped the driver’s side of a southbound 2016 KIA Optima in front of the drive-in about 12:45 PM. The KIA rotated and came to rest in the turn lane. The pickup continued across the southbound lane, struck a power pole and tree, and came to rest in font of the drive-in.

The collision affected traffic for three hours.

The driver of the pickup, a 53-year-old Port Orchard man, was airlifted to Harborview Medcial Center in Seattle.
The driver of the KIA, a 24-year-old Shelton man, was treated at the scene and released.

Both vehicles were totaled and Troopers are still investigating the cause of the crash. It is unknown if alcohol or drugs were involved.
