Two huge military cargo jets will fly over western Washington today (Friday, May 8th) to honor healthcare workers. The 62nd Airlift Wing based out of Joint Base Lewis-McChord says to expect two Boeing C-17 Globemaster planes flying in formation over various hospitals including Mason General.
The planes will take off from JBLM around 12:30 pm.. heading to Olympia then to Elma before heading to Shelton. Their flight path shows the formation will then go to the Tacoma Narrows and head north through the Kitsap Peninsula to Whidbey Island. The planes will travel east to Arlington before heading back south, zigzagging over the Everett-Seattle-Tacoma area before landing back at JBLM around 3:00 p.m.
The 62nd Airlift Wing is expected to fly over Mason General Hospital and Mason Clinic in Shelton about 12:45 PM. The time is estimated and may shift slightly due to weather, air traffic and airspace requirements. The Air Force also says, “Real-world airspace conflicts may prevent the 62 A W from flying over every planned hospital.”
MasonWebTV Powered by HCC plans to broadcast the flyover live from Mason General Hospital.
