The 28-year-old Shelton woman was injured Sunday morning when the SUV she was driving hit a tree and a small shed.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the 1997 Ford Expedition was northbound on State Route 3 at a high rate about 7:30 AM. At milepost 1 (near Arcadia), the SUV left the roadway to the right, striking the tree and shed. The Ford came to rest on the northbound shoulder approximately 20 feet off the highway.
The woman was transported to Mason General Hospital.
The Trooper’s report indicates that drugs or alcohol were involved and speed was the cause of the crash. The driver faces charges of DUI and driving with a suspended license.
