One local bank is closing its lobby to support social distancing and help prevent the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19). In an email to its member, Peninsula Credit Union wrote, “We have made the difficult decision to reduce branch lobby traffic temporarily to appointments only beginning tomorrow, Wednesday, March 18, 2020.”
The email also stated that drive-thru windows will be open at locations with additional staff to help the traffic flow. The drive-ups will also be expanding beyond the transactions typically able to be handled in the drive-up.
Peninsula Credit Union members can set up appointments by calling 1-800-426-1601. The credit union also offers several remote banking options through its website and mobile banking apps.
Other banks and businesses may also be switching to appointments only. It is a good idea to call ahead, check websites or social media.
