After the initial count of ballots from Tuesday’s Presidential Primary, 32.82 percent of Democrats in Mason County are supporting Joe Biden (2,863 votes), 28.98 percent voted for Bernie Sanders (2,528 votes), and Michael Bloomberg (who has dropped out of the race) is third with 15.72 percent (1,371). Initially 8,723 voters in the County cast ballots for the Democratic nomination for president.
On the Republican side, 7,510 in Mason County voted for Donald Trump with 93 write-ins.
MasonWebTV Powered by HCC spoke with Mason County Auditor Paddy McGuire after results were released Tuesday night, asking what most voters complained about during the Presidential Primary.
The latest statewide results show Sanders with a two-tenths of a percentage point lead (2,084 votes) on Biden 32.71 percent to 32.51 percent (335,498 votes to 333,414 votes).
Trump’s statewide numbers: 516,106 votes.
There are over 300,000 ballots still to be counted.
When you look at the national delegates for each Democratic candidate, Biden has 846 while Sanders 684.
