A staff member at Mary M. Knight School in Matlock may have been exposed to the COVID-19 (Coronavirus).
According to a letter from MMK Superintendent Matt Mallery to parents and staff, the MMK staff member had contact over the weekend with her daughter who works at Mt. View Elementary in Shelton and had contact with the Shelton School District staff member whose spouse is a first responder who may have been exposed to the virus in Kirkland.
None of them are showing symptoms. The MMK employee is staying home as a precaution as is the Shelton employee. The spouse has been quarantined at home.
However, as a precaution, the Shelton school was closed Tuesday for cleaning/disinfecting and is scheduled to reopen Wednesday. Mary M. Knight staff disinfected the MMK employee’s work area Monday evening and disinfected the rest of the building Tuesday night.
