The Shelton basketball teams lost to Timberline Wednesday. The Lady Highclimbers lost on the road 52 to 44 while the boys fell 65 to 61 on MasonWebTV Powered by HCC.
The Blazers started the game on a 9-0 run but the ‘Climbers fought their way into the game, tying it at 11 after the first quarter. Shelton pulled ahead in the second taking a 31 to 20 lead into halftime.
In the third quarter, the Highclimbers watch a 12-point lead drop to four. The fourth quarter belonged to the Blazers took back the lead and led by nine. Shelton tried to stay with Timberline, closing the gap to three but Highclimber turnovers and made Blazer free throws were the difference.
Timberline had four players score in double figures with Brooklyn Hick and Alex Wright each getting 16. Nic LeDoux added 12. And Jeshua Hardie chipped in 10.
Ty Thompson lead Shelton in scoring again with 16 points. Mason Kramer and Chase Burfiend each added 11.
The Shelton boys drop to 6-and-10 on the season, 4-and-6 in the SSC.
The Shelton girls are now 5-and-11 on the season, 3-and-7 in the Conference.
The Highclimbers take on North Thurston Friday. The girls on the road. The boys in the Mini Dome and on MasonWebTV Powered by HCC.
